You know, it always annoyed me how ebook readers and blogs started to show us things such as "18 minutes to finish the chapter".

Or how video-games started to include achievements everywhere.

It's like someone's trying to transform my hobbies into jobs to be done.

Couldn’t agree more. Think there’s actually a market opportunity here. Lots of laid off managers + juniors who can’t find jobs + a near future explosion in demand for engineering talent

I agree. You'd think our industry would have learned by now, but these boom or bust cycles look set to last until the sun expands to swallow the earth,
